Hazleton is located in Luzerne County, PA, and according to the 2010 census the population was 25,340. The city is made up of 6.0 square miles of total area, all of which consists of land, and it is located 25 miles south of the city of Wilkes-Barre. It is located in the valley and ridge section on the Spring Mountain Plateau. This city is known for its humid continental climate zone, and it has four distinctive seasons with an average annual snowfall of three and a half feet.
Hazleton is home to a variety of attractions that may be of interest to residents and visitors. There are several notable museums and organizations, including Eckley Miners' Village, the Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts, and the Greater Hazleton Historical Society and Museum. This city is also known for its annual street festival, Funfest, and it is typically celebrated during the second week of September.
